How to Make an Andu Ninja Mask
In the anime series Naruto, Anbu ninjas are a special class of ninjas with secret identities who are responsible for intelligence and assassination missions. They are highly regarded like the Elite and Special Elite ninjas and normally work in groups of three with an Elite ninja as leader. Their white masks and silver vests distinguish them in appearance from the other ninjas and make it impossible to figure out their true identities. Making an Anbu ninja mask is not difficult and this key piece can become a staple in your cosplay (costume play) wardrobe.

1
Roll your white air-dry clay into an 18-inch square sheet. It should be about 1/4 inch thick.
-
2
Set the sheet of white air-dry clay on top of your blank face mask and gently press it onto the mask so that it adheres to the plastic and shows the shape of the mask beneath it. Use your knife to cut eye openings in the clay. Allow the mask to dry.

3
Roll the remaining white air-dry clay into a 1/2 inch thick sheet and use your knife to cut out two 2- to 3-inch triangles. These will become the ears for your Anbu ninja mask. Set them aside to dry.
-
4
Superglue the ears to the mask once both have dried completely. Cut a length of 1/4-inch elastic sized properly for your head and superglue it to the inside of your mask. This elastic will keep your mask on while you are wearing it.
-
5
Paint facial features onto your mask using your paints and paintbrush. Anbu ninja masks feature a wide variety of designs and decorations. You can paint a variety of triangular shapes on the cheeks and forehead, or simply create your own unique Anbu ninja mask design with swirls or brightly colored facial features. Allow the paint to dry.
-
6
Spray your painted mask with acrylic finishing spray in a well-ventilated area. Allow the finish to dry and then spray it once more. Once the second coat has finished drying, your mask is ready.
