Instructions

      Set your iron to medium-high setting and plug it in. Wait for the iron to heat up.

      Apply the hot iron to the edge of the Formica, flat against the surface. Hold it in place for a few seconds, then remove.

      Insert a putty knife under the Formica. Use one hand to slice through the adhesive binding the Formica to the underneath surface, while pulling the Formica up with the other hand. Snap the Formica pieces off and discard them.

      Repeat the process above, applying the flat iron to every piece of Formica, until all of the Formica is removed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Reapply hot iron to stubborn Formica. Strong adhesive may need more heat to loosen.

  • To prevent fire risk, never leave your hot flat iron against Formica for too long, or leave it unattended.
