How to Remove Adhesive From Urethane Floors
Adhesives can be rather inconvenient when stuck to a surface that is walked upon, such as a urethane floor. This particular type of flooring is most popular in bathrooms, kitchens, offices and storage rooms. The surface is durable and easily maintained because of its glossy, seamless texture. However, it can become stained with glues and adhesives just like any other flooring. Although dissolving the residue from a floor can be tedious, there are commercial products available that can help lift adhesive from urethane surfaces.

1
Heat a small pot of water over a stove but do not bring it to a boil. Pour the water over the affected surface of the urethane floor and allow it to soak for 10 to15 minutes to soften the adhesive; this will ease removal with the aid of solvents and the right cleaning tools.

2
Apply the solvent using a rag or spray bottle according to the manufacturer's instructions. Allow it to set and refer to the product label for a specific waiting period.

3
Wipe the softened adhesive with a dry cloth or rag until it is cleanly lifted from the urethane surface. A plastic scraper or putty knife can offer leverage when attempting to loosen especially stubborn glues.
-
4
Follow up with a general-purpose household detergent or cleaning solution for complete removal of any residue or haze left behind by the adhesive.
