VMware Tools is a small software suite that can be installed on a virtual machine to increase performance and add extra features to improve the overall virtual machine experience. If you've installed VMware tools and want to uninstall it, there's an easy way to do so by using the Windows built-in program management utility.

Instructions

    • 1

      Start the virtual machine that contains the installation of VMware Tools you wish to uninstall. Log in to the virtual machine and wait for it to load completely.

      Click the "Start" button, open the "Control Panel" and then open the "Add/Remove Programs" section (on XP) or the "Programs and Features" section (on Vista or Windows 7).

      Select the "VMware Tools" entry from the program list and click the "Remove" button (in XP) or right-click on the entry and select the "Remove" option (in Vista or Windows 7). The automated uninstallation program will commence and remove VMware Tools from your virtual machine.
