It's easy to stay connected with your friends with video sharing websites like YouTube.

Youtube is a media-sharing service which enables you to upload videos to share with your family and friends. Not only can you share links to your videos via email and invite others to join Youtube, but you also can find friends who have existing accounts on the website. All you need to do is sign in and follow a guided tutorial on linking your Youtube account to other networking sites.

Instructions

1. Create an account if you do not already have one by selecting "Create Account" at the top of the welcome page. After you have created your account, sign in to access the friend finder features.

2. Find your friends on Gmail. Click on the "Gmail" link located in the "Find your friends on Youtube!" box. Link your Google account to Youtube by following the steps. After you have completed the steps, you will be able to find your friends' accounts by searching for their email addresses. According to the Youtube website, you only will be able to find friends "who have chosen to allow themselves to be found by their email address."

3. Find your friends on Yahoo!. Click on the "Yahoo!" link located in the "Find your friends on Youtube!" box. You will be prompted to sign into your Yahoo! account. After doing so, give your permission to share your email contacts with Youtube and the service automatically will search for your friends based on their email addresses. Like Gmail users, only users who have chosen to allow email-based searches will appear in your results.

4. Find your friends on Facebook. Click on the "Facebook" link located in the "Find your friends on Youtube!" box. Follow the directions to link your Facebook account to your Youtube account. Afterward, you will be able to perform a search on your Facebook friends who also have linked their accounts to Youtube.

5. Allow people to search for you. Adjust your privacy settings under "Search and Contact Restrictions." Select "Let others find my channel on Youtube if they have my email address."
