How Do I Know If I'm Connected to 3G?
The 3G network is a type of wireless cellular network that allows your cell phone, smartphone or other portable device to connect to the Internet even when you're away from home. Typically, a user will pay a monthly fee to their cellular service provider to access the 3G network. If you want to confirm whether or not your mobile device is connected to the wireless 3G network, you need look no farther than the device's own main menu.

Turn on your cell phone (if it isn't already on).

Go to the main menu.

Look on the top of your main menu screen for the "3G" logo. Depending on your model and carrier, this will either be on the left or the right of the screen. It is typically found next to your "Battery Life" indicator. If this icon is present, your device is connected to the 3G network. If it is not present, your device is not connected to the 3G network.
