How to Convert PDF Files for Sony Reader

Sony Reader is one of the most popular portable e-book devices. This convenient device displays compatible e-books for your reading pleasure, allowing you to easily carry multiple--even hundreds--of books to any destination. Sony has designed their Reader with the intent that users purchase and download compatible books from their Sony eBook Store. But you can also convert other files, such as Project Gutenberg public domain ".txt" formatted files, so that they are compatible with Sony Reader, using Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Instructions

1. Open Adobe Acrobat Professional. If you don't have the software, you can download a trial version (see Resources for link).

2. Click on "File" and open the file you want to convert.

3. Click on "File" again and select "Save As."

4. In the drop-down "Save as Type" menu, select "Adobe PDF Files, Optimized" as the type, and save the fiie to your computer.

5. Plug in your Sony Reader via its USB sync cable. Open your Sony Reader software and insert the new PDF file into the Library to sync it to your Sony Reader.
