How to Upgrade Adobe 6 Professional
Adobe Acrobat Professional allows users to work with files created in the company's Portable Document Format (PDF). In addition to providing tools that allow for the simple creation of PDF files, the program lets users perform edits, set page ordering options, create form fields, set security options, and much more. Upgrading from version 6 of Acrobat Professional is quick and easy. Simply insert the installation disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen prompts.

Insert the Adobe Acrobat installation disc into your disc drive.

Click the "Install" button after the first installation screen appears, and then click "Next" on the introductory screen that follows.

The installer will warn you that a previous version of Adobe Acrobat exists on your computer. Click the "Continue" button and the installer will remove the existing software and replace it with the new version. Due to software conflicts, Adobe does not recommend installing more than one version of Acrobat on the same machine.

Enter your name, the name of your organization, and your product serial number in the corresponding fields and click "Next."

Click the button that corresponds with your desired installation type and then click "Next."

Select your desired installation folder by clicking the "Change" button. You may also elect to install Acrobat at its default location. Either way, click "Next" after making your selection.

Click the "Install" button to upgrade your Acrobat installation. The process can take up to 15 minutes on slower computers.

Click the "Finish" button after the "Setup Completed" message appears on-screen. Your upgraded version of Adobe Acrobat Professional is now ready to use.
