How to Take a DVD & Put It on an MP3 Player
Most MP3 players are designed to support other media types as well as their namesake MP3 format. And it's their ability to play multiple file types that makes MP3 players great for consolidating physical media like DVDs onto one device. So whether you want to load your video MP3 player with a full DVD or copy the audio track from DVDs where the video track is nonessential, for example, in a video lecture, all you need is several audio/video utilities to transfer your DVDs to your MP3 player.

1
Download and install a "DVD to MP4" or "DVD to WMV" ripping utility--depending on your MP3 player's supported video type. Insert the DVD into your CD/DVD-Rom drive.
-
2
Launch the ripping utility, and select the menu option to "rip" or "backup" your DVD. Set a destination folder for the DVD file, give the file a name and then start the ripping process.

3
Extract the audio stream from the DVD files if your MP3 player doesn't video. Install a multimedia conversion tool on your computer. Launch the conversion utility, and then drag and drop the DVD file into it.
-
4
Select the utility's conversion option and set the output file format as "MP3" in menu that appears. Select an output folder for your file, and then convert the file.
-
5
Connect your MP3 player to your computer. Use the MP3 player manufacturer's supplied software to transfer the DVD file to your device.
