How to Reinstall Volume Controls
Most users can easily access the Windows volume controls through the task bar icon. Occasionally, programs may remove the icon from your task bar or Windows system files may become corrupted. Prior to reinstalling your volume controls, check the Control Panel and enable your task bar's volume control icon. If you receive a "Volume Control Program has not been installed" after attempting to reinstate the icon, you will have to replace damaged Windows system files with the originals found on a Windows installation disk.
