How to Clean the Cache for an Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 lets gamers connect to Xbox Live for online capabilities, including playing other users. Occasionally the cache needs to be cleared; it stores temporary files that can slow connection speed.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Xbox, then navigate to the "System Settings" menu with your controller.

2. Select "Memory."

3. Highlight "Hard Drive," then press "Y."

4. Highlight "Clear System Cache," then select "Yes."

Tips & Warnings

• Clear the cache on older Xbox 360 consoles by pressing X, X, LB, RB, X, X on the Device Options screen. A message will display asking if you want to perform maintenance. Click "Yes," and your cache will be cleared.
