How to Take Care of Bull Frogs

Bullfrogs are cannibalistic animals that require proper care. An adult bullfrog will eat any kind of animal smaller than it, including other frogs. Although bullfrogs are not expensive to purchase, they require a very large tank to live in, which can be quite costly. They also require a variety of foods that they are accustomed to eating in the wild, such as crickets, earthworms, and spiders, and occasionally other smaller frogs or mice. Bullfrogs do not get along well with other animals, are aggressive, and prefer to be alone.

• 100-gallon tank
• Soil
• Bark
• Leaves
• Large rocks
• Water
• Live plants
• Amphibian water conditioner
• Crickets
• Earthworms
• Spiders
• Minnows
• Vitamin supplements

Instructions

1. Purchase a 100-gallon tank for the bullfrog to live in.

2. Divide the tank into two sections, one for land and the other for water. Fill the land section of the tank with soil, bark and plants.

3. Insert a small section of plastic to separate the land section from the water section of the tank. Fill the section with water and arrange some rocks and live plants around it. Add amphibian water conditioner to the water.

4. Feed your bullfrog crickets, earthworms, spiders, minnows, and other animals they are familiar with. Bullfrogs are carnivorous and will eat smaller frogs as well.

5. Feed vitamin supplements to your pet bullfrog. You can do this by sprinkling the supplement on its food before you drop the food into the bullfrog's tank.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure to arrange the rocks around the water so that the bullfrog is able to enter and exit the water easily.

• Do not put any other animal--including a frog--in the tank with your bullfrog. They are cannibals and will eat anything they find in the tank with them.
