How to Track a Registered Mail International Package

Many important packages are sent to other countries, and the sender often worries that the package may be lost. Luckily, a mailed package sent to an international recipient can be easily tracked by the sender to ensure it gets to its destination at the proper time. Tracking the package involves entering in a specific package code online or by going in to a post office to have the package's location looked up. The tracking number will tell the sender exactly where the package is, as well as its estimated delivery date.

Instructions

    • 1

Mail the package by taking it to your local post office. The clerk will give you a package receipt, which you must save to track your package.

    • 2

Log on to the United States Postal Service website and enter the tracking code into the appropriate box. The city and state (or country) of the package will come up, along with past cities and countries it has traveled through.

    • 3

Review the travel of the package, and check to make sure it is headed to the correct destination and will be on time.

    • 4

Go to your local post office if you do not want to look up the package tracker online, and tell the office clerk the receipt number of your package. Somone will be able to look up its whereabouts and print out the information for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Often you will receive an email that will provide you an extra copy of the receipt and a link to track the package online.
