How to Delete Search Box History
Search history is stored on a browser and shows all of the websites you have visited over the past few days or up to the past year. While it can be a handy way to find something you did not bookmark, it can also be a nuisance if you are using a public computer or you do not want other users on your home computer to know what you were looking at. In these cases you can delete your search history quite easily from Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Instructions

Google Chrome

Select "Chrome" from the Clear Browsing Data menu.

Check all of the check boxes.

Choose the amount of data you want to delete from the "Clear data from this period" menu.

Click "Clear Browsing Data."
Firefox

Click on the "Tools" menu.

Click on "Clear Private Data."

Check the boxes next to "Saved Form and Search History" and "Browsing and Download History."

Click "Clear Private Data Now."
Internet Explorer

Select "Delete Browsing History" from the "Tools" menu.

Click on the "Delete forms" button.

Click "Yes," then "Close."

Tips & Warnings
Deleting the search history will be a little different in each browser.
Once you delete the search history you cannot get it back.
