How to Unlock a Blackberry 8330

Though the instructions for unlocking your Blackberry 8330 are simple, finding them in your manual may be difficult, given that there is no index. You can lock the entire phone to prevent all outgoing calls. To do so, you need to activate the password feature. You can also lock the keyboard to prevent any jostling from causing an inadvertent outgoing call or change of data.

Instructions

1. Set a device password by selecting “Security Options” from your device options. Click “General Settings.” Set the password field to “Enabled.” Press the “Menu” key. Click “Save.” Without a password, you won’t be able to lock the device.

2. Lock the phone by clicking “Lock” on the Home page or in the applications list. Unlock the device by clicking the trackball on the Lock screen. Then click “Unlock.” Then type the device password. Then press the “Enter” key.

3. Lock the keyboard by clicking “Keyboard Lock” on the Home page or in the application list. Unlock the keyboard by pressing the asterisk key and the “Send” key (the green key).
