Mirror images of text, in WordPerfect, are often used in flashy flyers, posters or other word processing tasks that require this extra element of design. WordPerfect does not, in itself, contain the tools necessary to manipulate text in this way.

However, using standard features built-in to the Windows operating system, you can create a mirror image of anything, including Word Perfect text. The process is relatively straightforward.

Things You'll Need

  • WordPerfect
  • Windows Paint program

Instructions

    • 1

Open the WordPerfect document that contains the text you wish to reflect in a mirror image.

    • 2

Scroll to the document location that contains the text. Ensure that the full body of the text is viewable on-screen and does not require further scrolling.

    • 3

Press the "Alt" button on the keyboard. While holding this down, press the "Print Screen" button. Nothing will happen, but the on-screen image of the Word Perfect text is temporarily stored in the Windows clipboard memory.

    • 4

Open the Windows "Paint" program. This is a free graphics editing program included in all versions of Windows. It is available from the Start menu, in the Programs folder under "Accessories."

    • 5

Click inside the blank Paint screen. Press the "Control" button on your keyboard. While holding down this button, press the "V" key. The Word Perfect text content is imported into Paint.

    • 6

Click the "Image" menu at the top of the Paint program menu. Select the "Flip/Rotate" command.

    • 7

Choose "Flip horizontal" or "Flip vertical" to create a mirror image. The selections vary in the placement of the image along left or bottom axis. Press the "OK" button when you have made the selection. The WordPerfect text is now a mirror image of what it was before.

    • 8

Save the image using the "File" menu. The image is now available for use in any other program, or in the original Word Perfect document. Import the picture if desired.
