How to Replace an LCD Inverter on an Inspiron
An inverter board works to converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). While the structure of electrical conversion can be complicated, Dell has made replacing the inverter board straightforward. Refer to the User Guide for your model of Inspiron for directions to remove the LCD screen. Most Inspiron laptops have similar design but there may be a few differences. The steps provided here will work for an Inspiron 9400.
