The BlackBerry Storm usually uses the Verizon voicemail system.

Every BlackBerry phone comes with access to the voicemail. The BlackBerry Storm is only sold by Verizon Wireless and comes locked to their network. Although Verizon voicemail service is included in nearly every Verizon Wireless mobile service contract, you are responsible for setting up your own voicemail settings for your BlackBerry Storm. The company provides an automated system to help you set your Verizon voicemail settings.

      Turn on your BlackBerry Storm. Dial *86 on it. If a message starts to play, press #.

      Press 4 in the next menu to access the Personal Options. Press 3 to access your Verizon Voicemail greeting options

      Press 1 to change your voicemail greeting. Choose whether you want to use a telephone number greeting, a name greeting or a personal greeting.

      Record your name or your personal greeting if your Verizon voicemail greeting requires it. Press # when you are done recording and listen to the greeting you recorded. Press * if you want to rerecord your name or personal greeting. When you are happy when your Verizon voicemail greeting, press # to save it and hang up your BlackBerry Storm.

Tips & Warnings

  • You only have to make a recording on your BlackBerry Storm if you choose to use a name greeting or a personal greeting. If you choose a telephone number greeting, the automated system will state your number for you.

  • Any airtime you use setting up your Verizon voicemail on your BlackBerry Storm will show up on your Verizon Wireless bill according to the service contract you signed with them.
