How to Make Gold on the WoW Auction House
The World of Warcraft auction house is an in-game store where players can buy and sell goods. The seller places an item up for auction by setting a starting bid, the duration of the auction and, if desired, a buyout price. The principles of making money in the real world can be applied; players who buy inexpensive items and sell them for higher rates will make a lot of gold.

1
Check the auction house several times a day. Look for items that are selling for less than the normal rate. Good items to look for include materials used in crafting professions, such as cloth, leather and ore, and enchanting materials, such as shards and dust.
-
2
Click the "Buyout" button to purchase any goods that are selling for less than the standard amount. They will be delivered to your mailbox immediately. Retrieve the item from your mailbox and list it on the auction house again for its common price.

3
Bid on items that are undervalued and close to auction expiration. Every item will have a duration listed next to it--either "short," "medium," "long" or "very long." Bid on items listed as "short" (less than 30 minutes left) and "medium" (30 to 120 minutes left).
-
4
Watch the trade channel for players using the acronym "WTS," which stands for "want to sell." Often, these items are being sold for less than the value that could be obtained on the auction house. Negotiate the price with the seller, and sell the item on the auction house for additional profit.
-
5
Buy the remaining quantity of an item if stock is low. For instance, if there are only a few wool cloths left at the auction house, buy them all and list them for more than the standard value.

Tips & Warnings
Download and install an add-on such as Auctioneer (see Resources) to track the common prices of all items on the auction house. Try to list items when people are likely to be playing. Weekends and early evenings are the best times.
