Honda Keyless Remote Programming Instructions

You can quickly program a new keyless remote for your Honda yourself if you have the instructions. There is essentially no variation in instructions between Honda car models, only between year. One set of instructions applies to older years while another applies to newer models. The merit of doing the programming yourself is that it saves you from being charged for the service at the dealership, which can run you over $100 per key.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Honda models differ as to when they made the transition from one set of instructions to the other. If your car was made in the late '90s, then you may want to try both sets of instructions. After 2000, the first set of instructions should work for all models. Of course, if there is no "Valet" button on the radio between the AM/FM and CD/Tape buttons, then you're safe to assume the second set of instructions doesn't apply to your car.
