Directions for Threading the Bobbin on a Pfaff
You are ready to sit down to sew at your Pfaff sewing machine, but before you begin, you must thread the bobbin so your upper and lower threads match. Pfaff has made threading the bobbin a simple task that requires little time or skill. Get these details done so you can get on to the creative process and sew something beautiful.

1
Open the top compartment of your sewing machine to expose the thread spool and guides.
-
2
Place the spool of thread onto the thread spool with the tail of the thread coming over the top of the spool.
-
-
3
Insert a spool cap that is slightly wider than the spool diameter onto the thread spool and push it down snugly against the spool of thread to hold it securely.
-
4
Place the empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder with the Pfaff logo facing up (so you can see it). There are small holes on the underside of the bobbin that fit onto clips on the bobbin winder. Fit these holes precisely and click the bobbin into place.
-
5
Grasp the tail of thread and pull it straight to the left to the first guide. Insert the thread through this guide by pushing it in from the front to the back. Pull the thread diagonally to the left to the second thread guide.
-
6
Wind the thread around the second thread guide counter-clockwise.
-
7
Pull the thread to the right directly across the sewing machine toward the bobbin winder.
-
8
Wind the thread around the bobbin at least three times clockwise.
-
9
Slide the bobbin lever to the right to snap onto the bobbin. This begins the winding process. The bobbin winder will stop automatically when the bobbin is full.
-
10
Clip the thread and remove the bobbin. Thread the upper and lower threads to prepare your machine for sewing.
