How to Change the Time on a Garmin C340

The Garmin Street Pilot C340 uses a GPS (Global Positioning System) to determine your location and calculate routes or driving directions. The built-in system clock also feeds from the GPS by acquiring the correct time according to the time zone in which it was programmed. In order to change the time on your Garmin C340, you simply need to correct the time zone. If the time is incorrect after inputting the correct time zone, your Garmin's GPS is malfunctioning. Consider sending it back to the manufacturer--or an authorized service shop--for repairs.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn your Garmin on. Tap the wrench icon at the bottom part of the screen.

    • 2

Tap the scroll arrow until you see "Time." Tap the clock symbol.

    • 3

Tap "Time Zone" to change the time. Select the time zone you are currently in (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern).

    • 4

Tap "Back" to return to the home screen. The GPS will automatically retrieve the correct time based on your location.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also change the time display format. Tap "Time Format" to toggle between the U.S. standard 12-hour format and the 24-hour format (sometimes called military time).
