Sweep off the patio or deck area where you are laying the Astroturf carpet. Unroll your Astroturf and allow the fibers to expand for at least an hour before installing.

Lay out the Astroturf where you want it installed. Allow the carpet to creep up the walls of the home or outdoor structure about 6 inches.

Use a utility knife to cut the Astroturf to fit the porch area. Press your hand against the Astroturf and the wall, and make cuts parallel to the wall.

Cut the Astroturf so that its fibers are running the same direction to make a seam. Apply carpet adhesive to both seams and butt them together to attach one edge to the other. Roll a carpet roller over the seam.

Apply carpet adhesive around the perimeters of the deck or patio area. Press the carpet down on the seams. Roll a carpet roller over the perimeters of the area.

Allow the Astroturf to adhere to the adhesive for 24 hours before using the deck or patio area.

Choose a dry day to lay Astroturf so the carpeting has enough time to adhere to the adhesive.
