Instructions

    • 1

Sweep off the patio or deck area where you are laying the Astroturf carpet. Unroll your Astroturf and allow the fibers to expand for at least an hour before installing.

    • 2

Lay out the Astroturf where you want it installed. Allow the carpet to creep up the walls of the home or outdoor structure about 6 inches.

    • 3

Use a utility knife to cut the Astroturf to fit the porch area. Press your hand against the Astroturf and the wall, and make cuts parallel to the wall.

    • 4

Cut the Astroturf so that its fibers are running the same direction to make a seam. Apply carpet adhesive to both seams and butt them together to attach one edge to the other. Roll a carpet roller over the seam.

    • 5

Apply carpet adhesive around the perimeters of the deck or patio area. Press the carpet down on the seams. Roll a carpet roller over the perimeters of the area.

    • 6

Allow the Astroturf to adhere to the adhesive for 24 hours before using the deck or patio area.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose a dry day to lay Astroturf so the carpeting has enough time to adhere to the adhesive.

  • Wear a mask when applying carpet adhesive to prevent breathing in fumes.
