How to Make Brown Rice

Brown rice is just white rice with the bran still on. It has a nutty flavor and more nutrients than white rice, but it takes about twice as long to cook. Serves four .

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Uncooked Rice
  • Table Salt
  • Table Salt
  • Distilled Water
  • Forks
  • Forks
  • Slotted Spoons (for Added Pulp)
  1. Step 1

    Combine the rice, salt and 4 c. water in a heavy pot.

  2. Step 2

    Bring to a boil.

  3. Step 3

    Stir and cover.

  4. Step 4

    Cook over very low heat for 40 to 45 minutes. Test rice and cook 2 to 4 minutes more, if necessary.

  5. Step 5

    Fluff with fork or slotted spoon to let steam escape.

on 6/13/2009 A good choice. Bring two cups of water to a boil. Add one cup of rice. Stir. Cover. Set your timer to forty minutes. (You never have to check it, only listen for the timer.( It is always fluffy and just right.
