How Do I Know What Version of MS Office Student Edition I Have?
If you have Microsoft Office on your computer, you may want to know which version is installed--especially useful when looking for updates or patches to download for your copy of Office. Find out which version of Microsoft Office Student Edition you have by accessing "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features", depending on which Windows operating system your computer has.

Click the "Start" button and enter "appwiz.cpl" in the search box. Press the Enter key and open the program that appears. The "Programs and Features" box will open.

Click the "View" button and select "Details." Locate Microsoft Office Student Edition in the list of programs.

Look under the version column to find out the version for your copy of Microsoft Office.
Windows XP

Click the Start button and select "Run" when the Start Menu opens.

Type "appwiz.cpl" into the Run box and click "OK." The Add/Remove Programs box will open.

Select Microsoft Office Student Edition from the list of programs and click the link that reads "Click here for support information." A box will open that has details about the copy of Microsoft Office you have installed on your computer.

Look at the "Version" section of the box that opens. The information that follows will note the version you have.
