How Do I Get My Start Bar Back?
Modern versions of Microsoft Windows have a start bar for quick access to all programs and files on your system. The start bar is usually found at the bottom edge of your computer screen, but depending upon the current settings you may find that it disappears--or hides--regularly. The ability to hide the start bar can be useful because it frees up screen space for applications you're using. Sometimes the start bar is actually on the desktop and simply hidden by the current application window you're looking at as well.
Instructions

1
Close all application windows that are currently open on your desktop. Some windows open in full screen mode, effectively hiding the start bar underneath and making it seem as if it had disappeared.
-
2
Move your mouse to the bottom edge of your computer screen if the start bar is still not showing. When the start bar is in hidden mode you can usually make it reappear automatically when you move your mouse to its location. If the mouse does not cause the start bar to pop back into place, click the Windows key on your computer keyboard to force it to open.

-
3
Right-click on a blank area of the start bar, then click "Properties" on the menu list that opens up.
-
4
Locate the entry "Auto-hide the taskbar" in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window that opens up and click the box next to that entry to clear the check mark.
-
5
Click the "Apply" button then click the "OK" button to save those changes.
