How to Remove Black Grease From Clothing Using Simple Green
-
1
Dampen the grease stain, then lay the clothing on your washing machine or another easy-to-clean surface (in case any grease or dirt transfers to the surface).
-
2
In a glass or a bowl, dilute 1 part Simple Green with 1 part water. Dip a cotton ball or swab in the formula and apply it to a small, discrete area of the clothing to test for colorfastness. If the color remains in the test area, pour the diluted solution directly on the grease and rub with a wet sponge.

-
3
Machine wash the clothing in warm water (no detergent is necessary). This should be sufficient for removing the stain. If any stain remains, repeat the process before drying the item.

No matter which formula you use, dip a cotton ball or swab in the formula and apply it to a discrete area of the clothing to test for colorfastness, before applying it to the stain.

If the test area color remains, pour the solution onto the stain, rub it in with a wet sponge and then machine wash it immediately in warm water (you shouldn’t need to add more detergent). Check the clothing after it has been washed. If any stain remains, repeat the process and rewash before drying.
