Instructions

    • 1

Obtain a homebrew flash cartridge for your Nintendo DS. The cartridge is a microSD card, so you need a microSD card USB adapter to insert the cartridge into your computer. Slide the microSD card into the adapter, and plug it into a USB port on your computer.

    • 2

Download DSReader, DLDI file system patcher and the DLDI driver file. (See the Resources for links.)

    • 3

Unzip DSReader. Right-click the zipped folder, then "Extract all files." Extract the files to a location you can easily access, such as your desktop.

    • 4

Unzip the DLDI file system patcher to a location you can easily access. Run the dlditool32.exe program.

    • 5

Click the "DLDI File" button. Browse to where you downloaded the DLDI driver file in Step 2. Click the DLDI driver file.

    • 6

Click the "Binaries" button. Browse to where you extracted the DSReader.nds file. Click the file.

    • 7

Copy the following files to the root folder of your homebrew card: "DSReader.nds," "arial.ttf" and "alice.txt." Alice.txt is simply the sample text.

    • 8

Copy and paste the text file of the book(s) you wish to download to your Nintendo DS Lite to your homebrew card.

    • 9

Remove the homebrew card from your computer. Insert it into your Nintendo DS. Turn on the console and run the "DSReader.nds" file.

    • 10

Open the menu by stroking the bottom screen upwards. Tap the folder icon to browse the books on your homebrew card. Tap the book you wish to open. Tap "Open" to open the book.

Tips & Warnings
