How to Make an Organic Disinfectant for an Outside Pet Area

White vinegar kills germs and bacteria naturally. Outdoor pet areas contain high amounts of germs and bacteria due to pet excrements and urine. The excrement may carry disease. Even if you remove the feces, bacteria remain. Spraying the area with vinegar kills most of the bacteria and germs. Vinegar kills 99 percent of bacteria and 80 percent of germs. The smell from the vinegar spray goes away after it dries.

Things You'll Need

• Empty spray bottle
• 5% acidic white vinegar

Instructions

1. Rinse out the spray bottle.

2. Fill the bottle with vinegar.

3. Screw the lid on tightly.

4. Spray the area outdoors and let dry.
