How Do I Get My Icons & Taskbar to Stay on My Laptop?

The Microsoft Windows taskbar is located at the bottom of the computer screen by default in all modern versions of Windows. The taskbar and all of its icons can be hidden if you need more room on your computer screen, but this can be problematic if you need frequent access to the icons and folders on the taskbar. If you'd like to have your icons and taskbar stay in place on your laptop screen, you can change the settings that cause it to hide.

• Microsoft Windows 98 or later

Instructions

1. Close or minimize all open application windows.

2. Press the "Windows" key on your keyboard to force the taskbar to display on the screen.

3. Right-click the taskbar and select "Properties."

4. Remove the checkmark in the box next to "Auto-hide the taskbar" and click "OK" to save those changes.
