How to Fix a Scrap Object in PowerPoint
You've made the perfect presentation, and have spent days (or weeks) sprucing up your PowerPoint presentation with video, maps, and music. The big day arrives, and instead of a ready-to-play video, a small box with an "x" is in the middle of your slide. The dreaded scrap object indicates that PowerPoint can't link to the file you originally pointed to in your presentation. The most likely scenario is that you've moved a file location, and haven't updated the hyperlink on the PowerPoint slide. To fix the scrap object, show PowerPoint where the file is.
Instructions

1

-
2
Click on "Edit hyperlink."

Tips & Warnings
PowerPoint can embed videos and other media to prevent broken links. Instead of hyperlinking, choose the appropriate media option from the "Insert" tab (for example "Movies and Sounds").
