How to Create a Bootable Windows PE RAM Disk on a CD-ROM
Windows PE (preinstallation environment) is essentially a "Windows-lite" version of the popular Vista operating system. Creating a bootable Windows PE RAM disk will enable you to have a backup copy of the Windows PE environment in case something goes wrong with your original. This will allow you to rest easy, knowing that you are ready to deal with whatever computer problem might occur.

Right-click on your desktop and create a new folder titled "Windows PE."

Insert the Windows PE disk into your computer.

Open the "My Computer" menu. Click "Tools," open "Folder Options," click the "View" tab, check the box to "Show Hidden Files" and uncheck the box to "Hide Protected Files."

Drag and drop all files on the Windows PE disk to your "Windows PE" folder.

Open your boot image extractor program and select the drive letter of your CD drive. Copy the ISO file that appears to the "Windows PE" directory.

Open your CD burning program and select the option to create a "Boot CD." Set the boot image file to the "ISO" file extracted during step five and burn the entire contents of the Windows PE directory to disk.
