How to Sync Blackberry With Yahoo Contacts

Your Blackberry gives you control over your busy life by allowing you to synchronize your Yahoo contacts directly to your handset. Take advantage of this feature and take control of your contacts. These instructions have been tested on the Blackberry 8220 flip model, and should work for your Blackberry too if you have the latest desktop software.

Things You'll Need

• Blackberry Desktop Manager software
• USB cable
• Handset

Instructions

1. Connect your Blackberry to your computer using the USB cable provided with your phone.

2. Open the Blackberry Desktop Manager program. The main menu screen will indicate that your Blackberry is connected to the computer by displaying its unique PIN in the bottom left corner of the box.

3. Select "Synchronize" from the main menu.

4. Click on "Synchronization" under the "Configure" tab on the left side of the synchronize screen. You should now see the "Synchronization Configuration" screen and choose the option which allows you configure synchronization settings for your desktop program.

5. Select "Synchronization." This will open the "Select Application" box. You will see the following options:
   • Calendar
   • Memo Pad
   • Address Books
   • Task
   Leave all the boxes checked for now. The check boxes represent which applications will synchronize each time you connect your Blackberry, not which applications you want to configure. You can change this later.

6. Click on "Address Book" and it should now be high-lighted.

7. Click on "Select" to open the "Select a desktop application" box. Yahoo will be listed here.

8. Choose Yahoo and click next. You will now see the "Synchronization Options" box. "Two-way Sync" is already selected and will allow your Blackberry and Yahoo contacts to share information each time you connect your Blackberry to your computer and synchronize.

9. Click "Next." This will open the "Yahoo Options for Address Book" box.

10. Click "Options." Enter your Yahoo ID and password. Check the box next to "Remember my Password" so that you won't be asked every time you synchronize.

11. Click "Finish" and you open the "Congratulations" box. You now have the same contacts on your Blackberry as you have in Yahoo.
