How to Design a T-Shirt Online for Free
A number of Internet clothing vendors allow you to design your own T-shirts, choosing your own color, text and graphics. Many of these companies allow you to design uniform shirts for sports teams as well. All you need is a computer and some creativity. Does this Spark an idea?

Access the Internet on your computer and go to http://www.customink.com/.

Click on "Start Designing" near the top of the page.

Choose your design preference. "Single Shirt" will allow you to design a personalized T-shirt just for you, while "Group Shirts" enables you to design shirts for groups of six or more people. Click on the design preference of your choice.

Build your T-shirt. Click on "swap item" to change the type of shirt (cotton, tagless, jersey, etc.) and the color of your shirt.

Click "add text" and type any text you want to display on your shirt. Click "Next" to display the text on the shirt; from here you can change the font, color, size, shape and placement of the text on the T-shirt. You can also edit the text, or add another box with different text, from this screen.

Click "add art." From this screen you can upload your own photo to print onto your T-shirt, search by a particular word or phrase, or choose a category (animals, holidays, etc.) to add pictures to your shirt. Once you select an image, it will appear on your sample T-shirt and you can change the color and placement of the image.

Click "add names" if you are designing a sports jersey-type T-shirt for yourself or for a team. Here you can add names and numbers to the T-shirts to personalize them for your friends or for yourself.

Click "Rotate" just over the image to move to the back of the T-shirt and add text or art there. Once you are finished adding designs, print or purchase your design.

Tips & Warnings
Even though designing the T-shirt online is free, you will have to purchase the T-shirt if you want it to wear.
