How to Use a Neapolitan Stovetop Coffee Maker
Turn your idea of making coffee on its head by using a Neapolitan coffee maker. This is a drip brew coffee maker for the stovetop. It has a bottom section you fill with water, a filter section in the middle for the ground coffee, and an upside-down pot you put on the top. When the water boils, the entire coffee maker is flipped over to let the water filter through the coffee grounds and into the serving pot on the bottom. Things You'll Need
- Neapolitan stovetop coffee maker
- 1 oz. finely ground coffee per cup
- 8 oz. water per cup

Separate the two halves of the coffee maker; the bottom without the spout and the top with the spout. Pull out the filter.

Unscrew the filter cover and add 1 oz. (2 tbsp.) finely ground coffee. Replace the filter cover.

Pour 8 oz. water per cup of coffee into the bottom half of the pot. Do not fill above the level of the vent hole.

Place the filter back into the container filled with water.

Snap back into place the half of the coffee maker with the spout over the bottom portion so the spout points downward.

Set the Neapolitan coffee maker on a stove over high heat and bring the water to a boil.

Remove the coffee maker from the heat as soon as steam emits from the ventilation hole.

Turn the pot upside down. Allow the coffee to brew for three to five minutes.

Remove the top unit and filter and pour yourself a cup of coffee.
