How to Cancel My AOL Subscription Over the Internet

AOL is a popular internet service provider that has begun offering discounted and free subscriptions. If you already have a broadband or DSL connection you no longer need to pay a fee to use AOL, but you can still use the AOL software, your screen name and email address, instant messaging service, chat rooms and most other features. Customer service, however, is not available for free AOL subscribers. Broadband and DSL are not necessary if you only want to cancel your AOL service and aren't interested in a free subscription.

Instructions

1. Go to bill.aol.com and sign in using the master screen name of your AOL account. When prompted, enter the answer to your account security question.

2. In "My Account Overview," scroll down to "Price Plan" and click on "Change My Plan."

3. Select "Free AOL/Cancel My Plan" and click "Continue."

4. Scroll down and click on the button labeled "$0.00." Click "Save" on the next page to confirm your cancellation.
