How Do I Link Windows Media Player With My Internet DVR?
To play DVR files in Windows Media Player, a DVR decoder must be purchased, downloaded and installed. Linking Windows Media Player to DVR files provides (associates) a software connection to the DVR extension. To play DVDs, Windows Media Player requires a DVD drive. Codecs (coder-decoders) allow media players to record, play and cross-convert different file types. DVR/DVD codecs start at $14.95; no reliable freeware DVR codecs exist.
