How Do I Back Up My Computer Files on CD? thumbnail
Backing up your computer files to a recordable CD is a good way to protect your data.

Recordable CDs can be used to back up important computer files. As long as the CDs are kept in a protective case to minimize scratches, they will hold the files for years. Both the Windows and Linux operating systems have the ability to write files to a CD. Windows users can utilize the Windows Explorer utility. This is the same utility that is used to view the files already on the computer. Linux users can work with the Brasero Disc Burner utility or the K3b program depending on the desktop environment that is installed.
