Instructions

    • 1

Pull off the cap on the bottom of the Toro trimmer by squeezing tabs on both sides of the cap. Grab the Toro string spool, pull it from the cutter head and pocket the spring, which you will need when you reinstall the spool assembly.

    • 2

Get rid of any remnants of string that may exist if the spool is about empty. Clean the cutter head of any debris.

    • 3

Place about 1/8 inch of string in the slot on the spool. Position the spool so the bump knob is at the bottom of the spool assembly, and begin winding line around the spool in a counterclockwise manner.

    • 4

Allow a 3-inch length of line to protrude from the spool assembly once the string has been wound snugly around the spool. Put the spring and spool back in the cutter head. Thread the line through the cutter head eyelet. Push the cap into the cutter head and lock the cap's tabs in the cutter head.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you wind the string the wrong way on the spool, the trimmer will not function properly.
