Chevrolet has dozens of makes that feature keyless entry. No single set of programming instructions will program the keyless remote for all or even most models. Some models don't even have such do-it-yourself instructions so that car owners can avoid the service charge for getting the remote programmed at a dealership. Therefore, finding the programming instructions your car needs could save you $100 or more in unnecessary costs.

2. Look up your car's manual on ownersmanualsource.com. This repository of owner manuals breaks down Chevy models by year. The manual for your car may have the required keyless programming instructions.

3. Call around to various Chevy dealerships. A dealer may give you the programming instructions over the phone.

Tips & Warnings

• Enter the keywords "program," "keyless" and your car's make into a search engine to see if the instructions can be found elsewhere online.

• Several model/year combinations of Chevy have no way of programming the remote without the dealer's special equipment. Check programyourremote.com to see if your car is one of them.
