How to Prepare Bluetooth for Discovery
To get a Bluetooth device to work with a cell phone or computer, it needs to be put in Discovery mode. This mode allows the device to find other compatible Bluetooth-capable devices and form a link. However, just putting the Bluetooth peripheral in Discovery mode is not enough. There are several things you need to do beforehand to prepare to put your Bluetooth device in Discovery mode.
Things You'll Need
- Bluetooth peripheral
- Bluetooth master device (such as cell phone or computer)

Fully charge the device you want to put in Discovery mode. Most Bluetooth peripherals have an indicator light that will turn green when the device is fully charged.

Put the master device (e.g., a cell phone or computer) that you want to sync the peripheral with into sync mode. Both devices must be broadcasting a signal at the same time so a link can be formed.

Put the Bluetooth device into Discovery mode. When the Bluetooth device has been powered up, and the master device has been put in sync mode, you can put your Bluetooth in Discovery mode and form (or add to) a Bluetooth network.

Tips & Warnings
If you are having trouble with your Bluetooth device, restart your master device and try again.
