Self-Cleaning Oven Dangers

Although the self-cleaning process isn't a super dangerous operation, according to the Magic Chef Owner's manual, there are some self-cleaning oven dangers that you should be aware of. The first thing you need to be mindful of is that certain parts of the range can become hot during the Magic Chef Oven self-clean process. Since parts of the range can get hot, you should avoid touching the cooktop, door, window and the oven vent area.

Another hazard to be mindful of is that although it is normal for smoking to happen if your oven is heavily soiled, you should open a window while the oven is cleaning. Lastly, when the oven door is locked, do not try and force the oven door open. You can damage the door if you try and unlock it when the lock symbol is displayed.
