How to Start a Homeschool Football Team in Texas
One of the major disadvantages of homeschooling your child is the lack of organized sports. Playing sports can help children get exercise and learn good sportsmanship. If you're a home-schooler in Texas, you can join together with other home-schoolers to start a football team. Fortunately, there are already other home-school football teams in Texas, so you'll have other teams to play.

1
Find a coach who is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association. This organization helps coaches network and gain professional development experience. You can be assured that he'll understand both the sport and how to work with high school-age students.
-
2
Look for a practice location. Students will need a place to practice their skills. You can use a local public park or ask for permission to use a school's football field when it is idle.

3
Recruit team members. Contact the home school associations in your area to find students who are interested in joining the team. You can create a religious-based team or a non-denominational team, based on the group that you target. Some leagues require about 20 boys per team.
-
4
Charge a fee to play. You'll need money to pay for uniforms, pay the coach's salary and pay for any location rental fees. Earn this money by charging each player dues.
-
5
Join the Home School Athletic Association. This is a sports organization in Texas. Through the group, you'll be able to find other football teams that you can play against.
