Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of the name on the back of the soccer jersey and cut a rectangle of fabric about a quarter-inch longer on either side, making sure there is enough to cover the name currently on the jersey. The fabric color should match the jersey color. Use a thin fabric so the patch better blends in with the original jersey material.

    • 2

Using the felt or fabric letters, select the proper letters needed to spell the new name.

    • 3

Glue or sew the letters onto the rectangle of fabric. Gluing may prevent the threads from showing, but is not necessarily a permanent solution, as the letters may come off in the wash.

    • 4

Place the rectangle of fabric over the previous name and sew it into place, using a needle and thread to sew around the perimeter of the patch.

Tips & Warnings

  • As an alternative it, purchase letters that can be ironed into the fabric.

  • Be cautious whenever using a sewing machine and take proper precautions.
