HP Pavilion is a line of desktop and laptop computers manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. Some versions of the HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop with Windows Vista feature a built-in Web cam to capture and stream live video to use with programs such as Skype, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. The Web cam can also be used to take still pictures and snapshots.

Instructions

      Click the Start Menu button from the bottom system tray. Type "quickplay" in the Start Search box and hit "Enter."

      Click the "Video" icon located at the bottom of the Quickplay screen.

      Select and click on "HP Webcam" from the Source section. If there is no "HP Webcam" to select, click on "USB Video Device." This will start the Web cam.

      Click on the "Snapshot Image" button at the bottom of the Web cam video screen to capture a picture.

Tips & Warnings

  • The snapshots (pictures) are stored in C:\Users\Public\Pictures\My Snapshots.
