How to Tell If Your Man Is a Player

How to Tell If Your Man Is a Player thumbnail
If he gets lots of female attention, he could be a player.

On television and in the movies, those bad boys known as players may be fun to watch. It can even be fun to argue at the television set warning the women not to fall for that line or that play. However, in real life, players can do nothing but cause heartbreak. For this reason, all women should know how to spot a player -- and hopefully stop him in his tracks.

Instructions

    • 1

Listen to your friends. If your friends have told you stories about him, listen to what they say. Players are known for having a rep. There are sometimes reasons why your friends will warn you about a man. Heed some of these warnings.

    • 2

Pay attention to how he acts. Yes, he may be telling you all the right things. However, what are his eyes doing as he is saying them? Does he check out waitresses a lot? Does he watch as women pass by him? Does he keep your dates? Does he keep his promises?

    • 3

Listen to what he says. Does he brag about himself a lot? Does he say what a great catch he is and how you could do worse? Does he brag about his job, how much money he makes and how he can lavish you with material things?

    • 4

Ask him to wait before you take the relationship to the next level. Wait and see if he pushes you, leaves or allows you the time you need.

    • 5

See if he answers the phone or texts while he is with you. Also notice if he takes phone calls in another room where you can't hear him or skips taking some calls after checking the caller ID. If he doesn't want to take phone calls in front of you, he could be hiding something.

    • 6

Look out for any lies, even the smallest ones. If you have caught him in any, this could be a warning sign. Remember that if a man can lie about small things, he can just as easily lie about the bigger things, too.

    • 7

Study his friends. Do they seem like players? Players do seem to flock together.

    • 8

Notice if he seems to have a lot of exes. Does he talk about or run into many of them?

Tips & Warnings

  • If you think your man is a player, run for the nearest exit -- unless you don't mind the attention he gives other women.

  • Don't believe that you can change a player. Most can't or won't change.
