How to Get a Mini Disk to Upload to a Computer

Uploading information from a mini-disk to your computer's hard drive can help you to store backup copies of your favorite home movies and other digital media. Although you might assume that you would require a special mini-disk player in order to access this information, you do not. Your CD or DVD-ROM drive is already equipped with a special access slot for mini-disks.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your CD or DVD-ROM drive.

    • 2

Place the mini-disk in the lowered section located in the very center of the tray.

    • 3

      Close the drive.

    • 4

Right-click on the "Start" menu and select "Explore."

    • 5

Click on the drive letter of your CD or DVD drive. Drag-and-drop the needed file(s) from the CD or DVD drive to any other location on your computer.
