How to Make BlackBerry Curve 8330 Faster

The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is designed to run a variety of small programs from the handset called BlackBerry applications. Although these programs can increase your productivity and connect you to larger programs on your computer or the Internet, they also use a lot of memory space. This can make your BlackBerry Curve 8330 run slow. To make it faster you can remove some of the BlackBerry applications that you aren’t using through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager interface.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your BlackBerry Curve 8330 to your computer with a USB cable. Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager if it doesn’t automatically start when you connect the BlackBerry Curve 8330.

    • 2

Open the Application Loader on the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Click “Start” under Add/Remove Programs.

    • 3

Remove the check mark next to all the BlackBerry applications you want to remove from your BlackBerry Curve 8330. For example, you can remove any languages other than the one you speak because they are just taking up memory space. Click “Next” to confirm your choices.

    • 4

Click “Finish” on the next screen to start the installation process. You can safely disconnect your BlackBerry Curve 8330 from your computer and close the BlackBerry Desktop Manager when you receive the successful installation message.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to reinstall any BlackBerry applications, just go back into the BlackBerry Desktop Manager Application Loader and put a check mark next to those applications.

  • Be sure to have a current backup file of your BlackBerry Curve 8330 before you make any changes to it. If you don’t, make one by choosing the "Backup and Restore" option on the BlackBerry Desktop Manager main menu.
