1
Measure the circumference of a recycled glass jar using a measuring tape. Add a 1/2 inch. Measure the height of your jar. Cut a rectangle of colored card stock using the circumference and height measurements. If the circumference measurement is longer than your card stock, cut two pieces and use a glue stick to seam them together.

2
Lay the cut card stock flat on your work surface. Center and arrange your desired stencil design on the card stock. Trace the shape of the stencil with a pencil. The side that is up will be the inside of the luminary, so trace your stencil design in reverse.

Place the stencil-traced card stock on a cutting board. Cut out the design using a craft knife.

4
Wrap the card stock around the recycled jar and mark the overlap. Apply stick glue to one overlapping edge and press the other edge to the seam.

5
Place a tea light candle in the jar and light.
