ISO files are designed to make it easier to copy physical discs.

ISO files are designed to make copying physical discs easier. Instead of needing the original disc to make a copy, you can save the contents of your disc to an ISO "image" file. Then, in the future you can just burn the image to a CD and have a perfect copy of the original work. If you want to burn an ISO file to a CD-ROM, however, you're going to need the appropriate software that knows how to work with the file format.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install a program that is capable of extracting the files from an ISO disc image file and burning them to a CD. MagicISO, PowerISO and Nero Burning ROM are three such programs.

    • 2

Put a blank CD in your CD burner.

    • 3

Open the disc image burning utility you downloaded in Step 1.

    • 4

Click "File" and then "Open." Click on the ISO file to open it within the burning program.

    • 5

Click "Burn." Note that some programs label this option "Write." This will extract all of the files from the ISO and write them to the CD in your CD burner.
